boo-hoovianism

noun. A weepy philosophy quite unrelated to choo-choovianism

Real citation: "A misanthropic friend emailed me today to complain about sentimental 'save-the-animals boo-hoovianism.'
I disagree with what he says, but I will fight to the death to promote his neologism as Word of the Year.
(Well, maybe not to the *death* exactly....)"
(Dec. 4, 2009, Jonathan Lighter, American Dialect Society listserv)

Made-up citation: "I subscribe to the school of boo-hoovianism. I even believe that fish and New Zealanders have souls and feel pain."
